The Supreme Council for the Hellenic Jurisdiction of the A.A.S.R. was officially inaugurated on February 8, 2025 in Athens, Greece.  The magnificent ceremony was officiated by the Sovereign Grand Commanders of Spain, Brazil, Turkey, Austria, Germany, Portugal, and Cyprus, heading their respective Supreme Councils.  Also present were delegations representing another twelve Supreme Councils (namely, Switzerland, Romania, Czech Republic, Poland, Andorra, France, Mauritius, Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia, and Slovakia).  Yet another four Supreme Councils (those of Croatia, Finland, Azerbaijan and Mexico) sent their support and best wishes, though they could not attend physically.

The inauguration was formally warranted by the Supreme Council for Germany under its Sovereign Grand Commander Most Puissant and Most Illustrious Brother Alexander Ludwig, 33o.

The Supreme Council for the Hellenic Jurisdiction is a new Supreme Council that shall serve all Valleys and Orients throughout the entire country of Greece. Only Master Masons belonging to a Lodge under the Grand Lodge of Greece, or a Grand Lodge in amity with the Grand Lodge of Greece, are qualified to join. We regard the Grand Lodge of Greece as the only regular masonic authority of symbolic Freemasonry operating on Greek territory, recognized by the UGLE and all Grand Lodges of the United States of America, as well as the vast majority of the Grand Lodges world-wide.

As a matter of fact, the Grand Masters, past and present, of the Grand Lodge of Greece, as well as the entire Grand Council, attended the inauguration ceremony, and voiced their unequivocal support for the new Supreme Council in the strongest possible terms. Moreover our relationship with the Grand Lodge of Greece is unmatched.  We enjoy mutual trust, we share our common vision of promoting Freemasonry, and we respect each other’s jurisdictions.
